Summary: AU this is my first try at this one. So at the moment I’ve been writing about a case study for my course; this makes me feel like I’m still doing uni work.
Scotty carries on following the young boy after seeing the man; he notices they are actually at the staff entrance to the kitchen. The young buy holds open the door behind him for Scotty and he can’t help but turn around to look at the other man.
He is caught of course looking at him; at least they were both hoping that the other would be looking. He carried on into the kitchen; forcing himself not to go back to the man, especially when he had company.
He walked into the kitchen smiling but that smile faltered when everyone turned and looked at him; damn he was late he suddenly remembered.
“Scott Wandell?” a man said making it sound like a question; they were obviously in charge.
He nodded and then said “Yes, Sir” knowing how important first impressions were and he had already made a bad impression by being late. He cursed again in his head.
“I’ll talk to you later” the man said making it clear that he wasn’t going to let that behaviour go unnoticed.
The man; who turned out to be the manager of the kitchen was going over the procedure for the kitchen. Who would be in charge and who would be doing what; Scotty was actually quite high in the hierarchy so hopefully he wouldn’t be in much trouble, but he was worried about getting fired on his first day.
After the meeting was over and everyone was off to do their tasks Scotty causally approached the manager and waited silently.
The man looked up “You know that if you were anyone else; you’d be fired” not angrily nor raising his voice.
Scotty looked shocked at the man; he had worked with him on other ships and hadn’t seen this side of him before.
“There is no acceptable reason for being late” he carried on still not looking at Scotty “the only reason why you won’t be reprimanded is because I’ve worked with you before and I know how you work and you’re normally the first person here”.
He looked up at Scotty at this point “It can’t happen again, okay” and Scotty nodded “you have to set an example to the other chefs and I can’t be seen showing favouritism either”.
“I promise it won’t John” Scotty said.
“Then get to work and it’s Mr. Brady” the man said smiling slightly and waving him away.
“Yes, Mr. Brady” Scotty said walking away to his station and starting on his work.

Kevin and Emily had gone back to their room after seeing the man again; Kevin said it was time to get ready for lunch.
They were nearly ready when there was a knock at the door and Kevin went to answer it.
Justin was waiting at the other side of the door; already appearing slightly drunk.
Kevin sighed in disappointment at looking at Justin but invited him in any way since he was only “Come in, Justin” and moved a side; while also giving Emily an apologetic smile.
“Yo, bro” Justin said giggling to himself thinking he wanted to say Yo Ho but that might not be appropriate and then straightened himself up when he say Emily. There was something about Emily that meant he was embarrassed of himself when he sees her; maybe it was the fact that she was a lady and he should be a gentleman.
He tried to tidy himself up as Emily rose from her seat; he took her hand and kissed it gentle whilst staring into her eyes; she was something beautiful to behold.
“Emily” Justin said softly “do you think I can have a moment with my dear brother, please” he asks needing to speak to Kevin and knowing he can’t say what he needs to say in front of Emily.
Emily looks at Kevin and he gives her a little nod “Of course, I’ll go to Dining Saloon and hopefully see if Sarah or Katherine are there” she moves to the door and leaves with the grace of a trained women.
They wait until the door is securely shut before they look at each other.

“Look” Kevin starts but doesn’t get any further than “if this is about earlier...” before Justin interrupts him.
“Of course this is about earlier and I saw you to nearly run into each other outside as well” Justin said clearly sobering up “What were you thinking, what if someone else had seen you guys, what if dad had seen you” Justin said angrily “Do you think I want to see you dead; one of these days you’re going to approach the wrong man and if he doesn’t kill you he could still report you”
“Look” Kevin started again “nothing is going to happen; I’m careful” he explains.
“Yeah” Justin agrees hesitantly “Normally but that’s part of the problem; twice in one day I noticed you staring and longing him” he spits the word out “and don’t pretend that no else notice; I could tell Emily asking you questions, she isn’t stupid. You’re not being careful this time” Justin states the obvious.
“Yeah, you might be right” Kevin said slowly hating to agree with his younger brother “but don’t worry the chances of us seeing each other again is no existent; he looked like he works here. You’re right Emily did question me about him”
“And that is another point; why do this to yourself” Justin asks “You have a great lady there; I don’t understand the need to go there. She loves you and she puts up with your wandering eyes as well; when I you going to make an honest women out of her and just marry her” he says curiously.
Kevin looks shocked for a moment but covers it up quickly, Justin has a better opinion of Emily than he does; maybe it’s the fact that he just isn’t that attracted to her. She was nicer than other women he had dated and hadn’t pressured for a ring, at least not yet. She fitted in well with the family and his parents seemed to be impressed with her and there was no chance he could be with whom he really wanted, maybe it was time to propose to her.
“Yes” Kevin said looking at Justin “I think your right”.
