Summary: Kevin and Scotty see Michelle after she moved back to the city with her new boyfriend. Based after the last episode so 5.08

A/N – I know walkerfics is doing a story on Michelle atm but can’t stop myself; it’s going to be different side of Michelle though :)

Flashback - Michelle

Michelle looks down at her stomach; she was starting to show already just the tiniest bump; maybe it was the fact that at the last sonogram they had she discovered she was having twins but then again it had been about four months since she found out she was pregnant with the babies.

She carried on looking down when she felt something; something she wasn’t expecting to feel. She had no idea how to handle what she was feeling.

She decided she needed to walk somewhere and hope that the feeling would away; it would pass she thought. She put on her shoes and walked out the door and carried on walking trying to get rid of the feelings.

That night she rang Kevin and Scotty and told them she had a miscarriage; she doesn’t know what else to say, so she hangs up and cries thinking what has she done?

She needs out of this city right now; she can’t cope with the pressure of everything. It’s all her fault.

She gets up and starts packing her belongs and thinking about where she could go to. She thought about how Scotty would normally be at the top of the list but she can’t go to him with this. Not after want to just told them. Parents; she suddenly thinks, you can always rely on your parent for everything.

She takes one last look around and left; she even left all her designs behind.

Flashback – Scotty/Kevin

Kevin can hear Scotty on the phone with Michelle. “No, no, it’s best if I tell him” Scotty says trying to move past the pain that developed in his stomach “You take care of yourself, yeah, bye” Scotty says as he hangs up the phone and turns to Kevin trying not to cry.

“Kevin” Scotty said hiccupping “That was Michelle” confirming what Kevin had already just. He shakes and he tries to find the worlds to tell him that they had lost their babies.

Kevin looks at Scotty and just knows; he goes over Scotty and holds on to him as Scotty breakdown. He doesn’t fell anything; he becomes a brick-wall as he doesn’t let the emotion in. “You don’t have to say it Scotty; I know” Kevin says as he holds on to Scotty, he doesn’t want to hear the words anyway.

Kevin holds onto Scotty until he goes quiet then he looks at Scotty, turns away, picks up the information about the new jobs and goes into the room marked private.

Scotty just stares after Kevin as his heart breaks; he knows his husband wants to be by himself but what was he supposed to do now. He needn’t the man he loved to be with him; they had just lost their babies and Scotty felt he’d lost Kevin as well.

Kevin walks into the room and looks around he puts the papers on the table. He needs to be strong for Scotty, Scotty needed him out there but here only Kevin felt the pain of his lost. He fell down the wall and hugged his knees as he cried; he knew Scotty wouldn’t come in here part of him was glad but the other part was angry he felt that way.

Then he started cry and once he finished he dusted himself of and looked at the first job he could do; no need to hurry to find a job now he thinks, we don’t have the extra mouths to feed.

He shakes off the thought and focuses on the information in front of him. He goes through the adverts for jobs and still isn’t finding anything he can do or wants to do. Nothing he wants as much as he wants those babies; to raise a family with Scotty.

End of Flashbacks

Kevin and Scotty are watching the film that Luc’s mum was in. Kevin looks down at Scotty leaning on him; he loves the feeling of Scotty next to him; this is want he has missed more than anything, just the two of them together, enjoying each others’ company, no drama and no arguments.

Kevin thinks back to the earlier conversation with Justin; he’d been truthful, they still had their good and bad days. They had both hurt each other so much, caused each other so much pain but he knew that he still loved each other. They wouldn’t have been able to cause so much pain if they didn’t; he thought back to how much they had lost this year. The sorrow of the year had weighed heavy of their souls and they were now finding their wall back to each other.

The credits ended and Kevin realized he had no idea how the film ended; too busy looking at Scotty and too deep in his own thoughts.

Scotty wanted to stay in this position forever; he felt cared for being allowed to be this way with Kevin. He thought he was going to lose him a couple of month ago but somehow Kevin’ big heart still loved him; he smiled at the fact that he had somehow forgiven him. They still had their bad days but at least he knew that Kevin wanted to fight for what they had as well Scotty thought smiling. He wanted to stay there forever but his body was starting to become numb from the position. He moved slightly and rested his head in Kevin’ lap and laid down looking at Kevin.

“So did you like the ending” Scotty said thinking how romantic it was.

“Um” Kevin said nervously looking down at Scotty “I kind of missed it, too busy with my own thoughts and looking at you” he said candidly.

Scotty smiled at that thought “Well, we could watch it again with you want to?” Scotty asked still not wanting to move from the safe-avenue of Kevin.

“No” Kevin said “I think I can guess the ending anyway” he said thinking that it’s about a man meeting and women, falling in love and living happily ever after; he knew better than that. He then sees the disappointment in Scotty’ face “We can watch it again, another night, I just want to go to bed” Kevin said.

He gets up and takes Scotty with him.

They had gotten into a pattern since Kevin had moved back in again; mechanical they went about their routines for the night. It was nearly back to how they used to be but was still a little bit strained; making sure that they didn’t get in each others’ way.

They were having some issues with intimacy still; nothing had happened since Scotty had told Kevin about Marcus. They held hands, they cuddled and even kissed but nothing sexual had happened and Scotty didn’t want to push the subject with Kevin.

They got in bed and laid down straight and upwards; no movement, earlier on the couch it had been easier but Kevin knew that was what he wanted. Now in bed his nerves got the best of him; like they had every day since he moved back in. It wasn’t that he didn’t want Scotty; it was trusting Scotty again, he had forgiven him knowing it was both their fault.

Kevin heart hadn’t quite caught up to his head yet and it annoyed him.

“Kev?” Scotty says in a timid voice, not knowing whether he wanted Kevin to hear him or not.

Kevin turned to Scotty at the mention of his name and realized how scared Scotty was; he looked so different from the boss down in kitchen who had turned Kevin on so easily or shouted at Justin to leave. He realizes his actions were affecting Scotty too; he wanted them back together properly. The only problem was his big annoying head as Scotty would put it.

“Yes” Kevin said.

Scotty turned when he knew that Kevin had and looked at him. “Can we” Scotty said nervously “Can we, um” stumbling on his words, Kevin waited patiently “can we please cuddle. You might be sleeping in our bed but you still feel a hundred miles away?” Scotty asked not really knowing the answer.

Kevin looked down at his husband and for the first time understood the pain he was causing Scotty by being there and not being there at the same time.

Kevin’ heart broke and he knew he was ready to really trust Scotty again. He looked at Scotty and moved closer and kissed him passionately; Scotty was so shocked by the turn of events he wasn’t sure what to do, he was just in disbelief.

Kevin stopped when he didn’t feel Scotty respond; he thought this is what Scotty wanted too. “I’m sorry” Kevin goes to say but Scotty jumps him; kissing him fiercely, once he stops he says “No, I’m sorry. I was just shocked” Scotty said shaking his head thinking that he is shocked that his husband wanted to kiss him “I really had wanted to cuddle you, feeling asleep holding you is how I want to spend every night for the rest of my life” Scotty said.

Kevin smiled at the thought “Me too. I just needed my head to catch up with my heart, body and soul” it was Scotty time to smile and Kevin thought it radiated the whole room.

They looked at each other as they moved their bodies closer together and Kevin whispered in Scotty’s ear “I’m ready. I want everything with you; you own me Scotty. I love you so much” Kevin moved back so he could see Scotty face again.

“I love you too; there is nothing I want more than growing old with you, you own me, heart, body and soul” Scotty said repeating Kevin’ words.  

They both knew it was true as they surrender to sleep in each others’ arm for the first time in months.

Scotty and Kevin were glad it was a Monday; the cafe was closed to the public and Kevin decided to take the day off work so they didn’t have to get up earlier in the morning.

They had the whole day to themselves and had decided to make to most of it after getting out of bed eventually.

They had decided it would be a shame to not take advantage of the beautiful day; plus neither had to be anywhere else today, so they decides a picnic in the local park would be a great idea.

Scotty quickly made some food as Kevin got everything else they needed together – blanket, cutlery and plates and being a Walker a bottle of wine to celebrate their recommitment to each other.

At the Park

They were both having a great time; feeding each other strawberries and just enjoying each others’ company.

Kevin looked up and spotted a familiar face in the sea of crowds. He got Scotty’s attention and points to Michelle.

“Oh” Scotty said knowing that part of Kevin still blame Michelle for the miscarriage.

“We should go over” Kevin said lightly.

“We don’t have to” Scotty said.

“When was the last time you saw Michelle anyway?” Kevin asked thinking he can’t remember seeing or hearing from her since that night.

“Um” Scotty said thinking back “The night she called out the babies” Scotty said feeling guilty.

“Scotty” Kevin said in astonishment “Why?”

“Well, I tried to get hold of her afterwards but couldn’t, then when I did she said she was busy” Scotty said feeling the need to explain it wasn’t his fault “I heard she moved back with her parents for a while” Scotty said think back to the gossip he’d heard about her from Mario, Quinn and Jordan.

“Well let’s go and see her” Kevin said standing up trying to put the past where it belonged. Once he is up he holds his hand down for Scotty; he grabs hold of them and lets Kevin pull him up.

They walk over to where Michelle is; her back towards them now, once they’re a bit closer they both say “Michelle” and wave once she turns to them.

Michelle hears her name being called and turns to see Kevin and Scotty walk over. She isn’t sure what to do but there isn’t enough time to runaway; they’d see away.

Kevin and Scotty can understand the fact that Michelle is scared; they haven't spoken in a while but they didn’t blame her, not really.

“Um, hi” Michelle says as she tries to stop them getting any closer to where Steve and the kids are.

“How have you been?” Scotty said not understanding her reaction; they’d always been close friends.

“Um, busy” Michelle said and she notices Kevin start to walk past her. She tries to stop him but doesn’t know how to.

“Yeah, I got that” Scotty said as he followed Kevin and Michelle back to their picnic.

Kevin is already in disbelief when Scotty gets there and Scotty joins him; it felt like a kick in the teeth, looking at the two babies on the blanket.

Their minds quickly worked out the calculations in their heads but coming up with the same equation; these babies had to be their babies. They looked at each other then at the guy who had been introduced as Steve to Kevin.

Kevin didn’t want to believe it “Steve, are these your babies” Kevin asked praying that they were.

“Well no” Steve said not liking the tone of voice Kevin had “but I’ve been with Michelle since the bastard who got her pregnant abandon her. So they are my kids” as Steve said that Kevin just wanted to reach out and touch the babies he had lost.

Scotty was the one to get angry, he had trusted Michelle, and he talked Kevin into having Michelle as a surrogate and he’d been lied to.

“Michelle, please tell me you didn’t” Scotty yelled and got the attention of Steve, Kevin and half the people in the park.

She just stood there and knew she couldn’t lie anymore, her fantasy was over. She stood there and did the only thing she could in the situation she shakes her head and said “I can’t”

Yeah she does, I'm not quite sure how she is going to get out of this one.

oh-my-god..... totally opposite to my version of michelle, it s heartbreaking but somehow i want to now where this leads..... good thing kevin is a lawyer!

Yeah, I was slightly worried about stepping on your toes - but my Michelle is a bit more self-involved.
Yeah, I glad to see Kevin in his element of Law :)
