A/N - So I'm back, still got a couple of months until fully recovered but I'm writing; thanks for all the kind words of the last few months; they really helped - hope you like :)
Scotty was nervous; he was on his way to meet Kevin and he had no idea A) why he was going B) why he was so nervous and C) why he hasn’t gone more than an hour without some type of communication with Kevin; except of course, when he was asleep.
This, though, this was the first time he was physically meeting Kevin. Back where they first meet; at the cafe, the food as Kevin explained was best in the city. That’s why he was there originally, he took everyone he meet there; Kevin had always been a big fan of food – but only good food – and that would require gym trips only occasionally.
Food was something that they both could relate to and he didn’t actually get to eat any of the food from the cafe when they first meet. He was intrigued. Intrigued about the food and Kevin; he had meet and known gay men before but he never striked up a friendship with any of them. He didn’t know why he had but Kevin believed it was because he knew or at least suspected that he was gay and he wasn’t ready until now.
He couldn’t understand why he was meeting up with him when he was so determine to label him; maybe the reason was because Kevin was attracted to him. That had to be it. Kevin wanted him to be gay and Scotty thought it was cute; he actually enjoyed the attention Kevin had been throwing him.
He was learning more and more about Kevin and the more he knew the more he wanted to know. He was an environmental lawyer; which Scotty found interesting, he always tries to be as environmental friendly as he could. Though Kevin’ cases were mostly about pollutes and finding and charge the people responsible for the release of toxic materials.
He was discovering the Kevin had a brilliant sense of humour and was so sarcastic. He explained that once when he was in a cinema some people were talking and instead of putting up with he casually walked over to them a said “Um, do you realize there is actually a film to watch” and then walked away. Oh, I could never have done that.

Kevin was waiting at the table; he was hoping that Scotty would turn up. He expected that he would but he also recognised the fact that he had been teasing him endless for some time so there was a chance that he might decide against it.
The problem the Kevin was having, as he looked around the cafe, was that he actually liked him; he was recognising the feelings developing inside him. The more he learnt about Scotty the larger the feeling got. He was falling for him, this guy that didn’t believe he was gay, didn’t even want to recognise it.
He was the type of guy he had been looking for, for a while now, though younger than himself he was ambitious, he was focused, he respected people, he was funny, cute even and cared about people. Was he really asking for much from a man but he had to find it in the one gay man that did even know he was gay.
He was also a chef; oh god, why did he have to love food so much.
Kevin looked up as the door opened and saw a smiling Scotty walking towards him. He was even more attractive than he remembered.
***
Scotty saw Kevin nearly immediately as he walked into the cafe; a little knot developed in his stomach. He had to pause for a moment before moving. The little knot twitched and he realized he was nervous about this date, no, wait, meeting.
He’d meet up with friends before, never before had he called them dates and never before was he nervous.
Kevin smiled at he and he realized how beautiful Kevin’s face was and how those blue eyes shown brighter than any other blue before. The knot grew bigger and he couldn’t help but smile flirtatious towards Kevin.
