About: Was supposed to be just Kevin and Scotty but turned out to be the whole of walker family.

Summary: What if Kevin was the one to get Amnesia.
Justin closes his phone and goes to tell everyone to expect visitors though he’s not sure whether to head to Kevin’ or Robert’ room. He eventually decides to go to Robert’s room knowing that Scotty is talking with Kevin and they need their privacy. Kitty should be back at Robert’s by now; Justin is sure.

Kevin’ Room
Kevin and Scotty are still in the same position when the doctors and the rest of the family walk in to his room. They pull apart quickly and wipe their faces hoping to disguise their tear streaked faces.
The doctors and the Walkers ignore the moment the two were having knowing that if they tried to leave now it would make the situation more uncomfortable; not less.
Michael walks over to the bed and says to Kevin “Hi, do you remember me?” Michael asks wondering about Kevin’s memory. Kevin nods his acknowledgement not sure if he is ready to speak yet. Michael decides to pressure Kevin “Can you tell me my name?” Michael says gentle knowing they interrupted a private moment between the couple. Kevin looks up surprised by the question “Um, of course I can, it’s Michael” Kevin says like it’s the stupidest question he has ever been asked in his life “Why would you ask” he says reflecting his thoughts. Michael looks at him and smiles at the sarcastic tone in Kevin’ voice “Well, just checking your short-term memory as well. Good to know that it seems to be in order but with memory loss we need to be careful” Michael says.
“Anyway, this is Dr Karl Thompson he is a specialist in the area of memory loss” Michael says introducing the new face to both Kevin and Scotty. They both shake Karl’s hands.
“Hi there, well first of, I think it would best if there was fewer people in the room if that’s okay with you Kevin?” Karl says
“Okay” Kevin says slightly worried
“Well I’m not going anywhere” Scotty says determinedly. Kevin looks at Scotty surprised but doesn’t say anything to him; he wouldn’t know what to say anyway. He knows that Scotty has the right to be there but part of it makes him feel awkward and the other part makes him glad that Scotty wants to be there for him; it makes him feel needed and loved.
Kevin looks at his mother and says “Can you stay to mum?” wanting his mum by his side; it’s everyone else turn to look shocked now. “Of course, honey” Nora says going to Kevin’s side. Sarah wonders what just happen; surprised that he wants his mother there; they were still having a little strain over the Aaron situation. Then again Kevin doesn’t know about that now. Kitty looks at Kevin and wonders is he scared of being only with Scotty; maybe the only reason they did get back to together was because Jason wasn’t there and he just transferred his love to Scotty. Was this Kevin and Jason time to try again; she shakes her head knowing she is wrong and getting involved with Kevin’s relationship is never a good idea. Saul is the only one to look at Scotty and feel his pain when he asked for his mother; god Saul thinks he knows how much Scotty loves Kevin and how much Kevin loves Scotty even if he can’t remember.
Scotty looks at Kevin; resolved to understand where Kevin was coming from; that’s what they both promised to do. His mind still goes back to that bad place even though he tries not to. The place where he doesn’t feel worthy of being around Kevin and that he isn’t who Kevin wants to be with and he isn’t needed or wanted. No Scotty he tells himself, you will stay and not let Kevin push you away out of fear.
Kevin looks at the shocked faces of his family and realizes too late that he’s made a mistake; not sure what but he knows it’s bad. He looks at Scotty face and sees the disappointment in Scotty’s face and knows. He thinks how he can fix yet another mistake and can’t come up with anything but “I’m sorry, I promise I’ll try better” he whispers to Scotty so only he can hear; this earns a little smile for him.
Sarah, Kitty, Saul and Dr Carter leave the room.
“First things first, we need to set a time-line of where you’re at now; I know that we have figured that it is rougher three years ago” Karl says going start for the difficult parts; better not to sugar coat the situation.
The other three nod yes; Kevin does this out of habit more than actually knowledge, as far as he is concerned it was yesterday. The doctor decides not to say anything; it’s a typical response of a patient to agree with what they have been told about the time, now the details are a whole different situation. Where the patient will normally ask the same question to different people hoping for a different response; this can become confusing with everyone perception of memories changing over time.
“Okay; so what I want you to do Kevin; is to make a journal of where you currently are at or were before you found out about the amnesia. Scotty, Nora, I’d like you to write a list of the main or significant things and dates that have happened over the last three years. You’ll keep these to yourself for now and we’ll approach each topic together in a section. When I feel we’ve made some progress on one topic we’ll move on to the next” Karl explains the procedure.
“Um, is there anything we can do to get the memories back without just telling him them?” Scotty says concerned that Kevin won’t believe what he has been told.
“That’s the next part I was going to bring up; there are some session Kevin and I will do privately. They can be intense; with memory recovery and might bring other things to the surfaces that you don’t remember. That’s the issue with memory loss; sometimes your mind protects you for good reasons.” Karl says making sure that everyone understands the complications “They are some prescription I’ll write up for you now if this is the course you want to take” Karl says not forcing the issue.
“I’ll do it” Kevin says looking at Scotty and wanting to know how he managed to come and stay in his life this time; third time is a charm they say. Is does this count as fourth now?
Scotty looks up at Kevin in disbelief “Are you sure, this could be risky, Kevin” he says not wanting to hope that Kevin would be willing to do this for them.
“Yeah, I want to remember” Kevin says with clarity; knowing at the moment Jason was still in his heart and not sure how to remove him or whether he still want Jason but he made his decision before. Would he still make the same decision now; he’s not sure, which is why he wants to remember more than anything.
Nora looks at the moment between them and hopes for the best.

In Robert’ room
Jason has been talking to Robert for a while now and he is going concerned about where everyone is and what they didn’t what to tell him.
“They’ll be back soon” Jason says to himself as much to Robert.
It’s at this point that Justin walks in.
“Um, Hey Jason” Justin says cautiously.
“Hi Justin” Jason said.
“Um, I kind of thought that maybe Kitty might be back from see Kevin by now” Justin says explaining why he was there; not that there should have been a reason for him to visit his brother-in-law. It’s just been slightly uncomfortable since Jason and Kevin broke-up; they try to ignore it but it’s still there, how much Jason hurt Kevin.
“Yeah, I was just thinking that myself” Jason says agreeing with Justin.
“Well I just that everyone is being overly cautious with Kevin’ amnesia” Justin says hoping it was the reason and there hadn’t been any further developments. No he thinks; if there had been he would have heard from someone. Then he looks at the surprised look of Jason face and realizes too late that he probably shouldn’t have mentioned anything to Jason. Particular with when Kevin thinks his life is at the moment. Justin is suddenly more worried than before.
“Kevin has amnesia?” Jason says with concern just as Kitty walks into Robert by herself.
“Oh, Justin we weren’t going to say anything until we determine how Kevin is handling the situation” Kitty says to Justin.
Then she looks at Jason and decides she is going to but in on Kevin’ relationship instead of let it be “Jason, Kevin thinks its three years ago; just before you left for Malaysia” Kitty says softly. Justin is surprised that Kitty gave that much information to Jason.
Jason reaction is similar to when Kevin found out. He falls back into the chair and thinks of how happy they were; how they had told each other they loved each other just after he found out about the trip to Malaysia. That was a happy time for both of them; the trip was good but he remembers the pain he put Kevin through, wondering if he would do the same again. He knew Kevin was in love with Scotty now but there was still a part of him that would always love Kevin. “Kevin loves me” Jason doesn’t realize he has said the last part out loud until he sees the others’ faces.
“No, he doesn’t; he loves Scotty” Justin says, not believing what Jason just said.
“Actually, yes he does” Kitty says contradicting Justin. The siblings look at each other and have a silent battle not understanding why the other said what they said.
Jason decides to interrupt the silence of the room “Um, so how are Kevin and Scotty taking the news” Jason says knowing how hard it must be on them. He might want to see Kevin and remember how he looked at him with love. He also knows that the two made vows to each other that he should (he means will) respect.
“I’m going to see Kevin now, since he knows about the amnesia he’ll now know I’m not in the army or away” Justin says not really wanting to talk to either Kitty or Jason. How could Kitty say that to Jason? Kevin loves Scotty; it was as simple as that. He walks away.
Kitty goes to sit next to Jason “How are you feeling about the situation, Jason?” Kitty asked wanting to know the truth about how his brother-in-law was doing. To be honest she was glad for the disruption so she didn’t have to think about Robert.
“I’m not sure how I’m feeling” Jason says honestly; how should he respond to the situation, is there even a right way to respond.
“Maybe you need to talk to Kevin” Kitty says truthfully; what if there were still feelings between the two.
“I not sure Scotty or Kevin will want that” Jason says thinking that maybe it would help with his feelings.
“Maybe I can talk to Kevin for you” Kitty says hoping to commence something between Jason and Kevin. She just hopes that something good will come out of this misery.
“Um, maybe it will help” Jason says not really sure he actually wants to speak to Kevin but doesn’t know what to make of the circumstances.
“Okay I will, when I have the chance to speak to Kevin by himself” Kitty says resolved.

In the Cafeteria
After the talk with the doctor and Kevin; Nora and Scotty leave Kevin’ room and head to the cafe to do their lists together.
“So I’ve been thinking about how we do this and I think maybe you should focus on particular things that just happened to you and Kevin. I’ll write done things that involve the rest of the family, okay?” Nora says to Scotty giving him a note pad and pen and getting her one as well. Scotty nods and they both start to right.
After half an hour Scotty says with tears down both of their faces but smiles as well with the memories “I’m finished, should we trade and make sure we have missed anything” Nora nods and they swap pad and reads the bullet points that they have wrote.
Nora looks at wrote Scotty has written:
· Meet at the law firm after getting a DUI charge; Kevin helped with the charges.
· Moved in with Kevin as friends; after financial difficulties and slept on the floor.
· Slept with Kevin whilst he was still dating Jason; broke-up with Jason soon afterwards and became an official couple.
· Scotty introduced him to his friends; Karaoke bar and lots of singing
· Kevin proposing after a hospital bill then proposing properly again. And finding out that Saul is gay.
· Kevin and Scotty getting married.
· Kevin nearly making partner then quitting to work for Robert as communication director when Scotty’s parents came to visit
· Scotty promoted to head chef and trying to buy a house
· Kevin in hospital
· Talking about having children
· Deciding to go down the surrogate route; with Michelle as the surrogate.
· Losing Scotty’s job and Kevin.
· Finally getting pregnant
· Deciding to open a cafe with Saul
· The accident
Scotty looks down at Nora’s list and laughs at the drama of the Walkers:
· Justin goes and comes back from the war; his trouble with drug addiction again
· Sarah and Joe separate and get divorced
· Robert and Kitty get married (plus Kitty has a miscarriage)
· Tommy has an affair; as does Julia
· David (Holly ex) comes into the picture. Turns out that Rebecca isn’t related and David is her family.
· Saul admitting he was gay.
· Kevin and Scotty getting married.
· Discover another sibling: Ryan.
· Justin and Rebecca start to date.
· Sarah and Saul go into business with Tommy and Holly to save Ojai. Kevin gets fired.
· Kitty quits her job and publishes her book.
· Kitty and Robert go ahead with adoption – eventually getting Evan.
· Elizabeth and Kevin in the hospital after Lizzie gets liver damage and Kevin turns out to be the biological father
· Tommy gets arrested and goes to Mexico; Julia leaves for Seattle after getting job.
· Kitty is diagnosed with cancer – eventually being told she is cancer free.
· Sarah starts to date Luc – a French/Artist man.
· Rebecca gets pregnant (she has a miscarriage).
· The family discover about Aaron and his disabilities and Dennis York.
· Ojai and Walker Landing go bankrupt – we manage to save the family business with the piece of land that has a lake under it.
· Justin and Rebecca get married.
· The Accident
Scotty looks up at Nora and says “You do realize that if we told him all of this in one go, his head is likely to explode” shaking his head trying not to laugh “and we are bound to miss something out. Why do you have mine and Kevin’ wedding on your list as well” Scotty says noticing they have the same thing.
“Well” Nora says trying to put it in the right word “It was such an important moment for all of us. I felt it should of been mentioned twice” Nora says loving, wanting Scotty to know he is still part of the family. Scotty feels so loved and smiles at the compliment from Nora.
“Thanks” Scotty says “I’ll keep hold of these and give them to Karl if that okay with you?” Scotty asks. Nora just nods and gives Scotty the other pad. Scotty tears both pieces of paper of the pad and folds them up and puts them in his coat pocket.
“Probable time to go back to Kevin” Scotty says nervously.
They stand up and walk to Kevin’ room; surprised at what they find there.
