Spot the Present

Summary: Everyone talks about the presents they got; each of which I got for Christmas J Thought this might be a fun way of telling people.

This was the first Christmas in her new home; with her new family. Olivia had spent the morning with just Kevin and Scotty and of course her baby brother Daniel.

She’d never had a proper Christmas before; they did something special at the homes but this was the first time that it felt good and happy. This was the first item on the list that she wrote to Santa; a real home and a family. At least she wrote that until she realized that Santa didn’t actually exist.

She could tell from the present she received that Kevin and Scotty had really noticed how much she had loved Disney movies; in particular Snow White. In the shops you could never find anything that had just Snow White on and it annoyed her. She had no idea where they had gotten the presents; she presumed online but she loved them. They had got her a Snow White mug which had the first line of the movie/book on the mug. They had also gotten her a t-shirt with the cast of the Snow White film on; it was amazing and she had put it on and tried not cry. As she opened the other dozens of presents she received from her two dads.

Wally; she hadn’t quite managed to start calling Scotty parent her grandparent yet, maybe it was related to the fact that she didn’t see them as often as Nora or her Aunts and Uncles. She had becoming used to Wally and loved the fact that she had more Disney parents from other people; he had given her two of the new Disney DVD; The Princess and the Frog and the movie Tangled. She had never watched them before and she couldn’t wait to watch them; Kevin had promised to let her watch them on Boxing Day.

Bertha presents weren’t nearly as original as a gift; she had still yet to understand that just because she was a girl, it didn’t mean she actually liked the colour pink. Bertha had given she a pink woolly hat and gloves set; it might have been perfect for Paige but she wasn’t Paige though and she couldn’t remember a time when she did like pink.

At least she had received some great presents and always remembered that no matter what you got; smile and say thank you. She rang up both Wally and Bertha to thank them for the gifts.

Now it was time to head to Nora’s for lunch.

Both Scotty and Kevin had agreed not to spend too much money on each other and to focus on the kids; they got a few special presents for each other but the rest was on Olivia and Daniel.

They allowed Olivia to pick out a present for Kevin from everyone and for Scotty from everyone. She chooses a tin of Quality Street for Scotty; know that he was the biggest fan of chocolate she knew it would go to everyone. Though Kevin’s big bar of Cadbury chocolate would definitely go into Kevin’s stomach without much or any going to anyone else.

Kevin wasn’t at all surprised by a pair of socks from someone but he ended up with nearly a dozen pair of socks. What was he supposed to do with the many pairs; particularly with the amount of socks he already had. Maybe he should give some to charity or something; he’d need to think about it.

Anyway; time to head to Nora’s now.

Kitty and Seth were in bed; opening up parents since Evan had coming in waking them. Evan was all tired out by the time he had unwrapped his presents and decided to take a nap on his Mum.

Kitty was opening her main present from Seth; she was excited, it was quite a large present. She continued to open it until she realized it was a large bag; designed in a drawstring style but was a leather style make; she loved it immediately. She quickly gave Seth a kiss on the cheek and opened it to have a look at the size of it. Inside was a drawstring purse and Seth being creative had put all the different types of cents inside it. She couldn’t help but giggle at it; such a sweet idea.

Seth started to open his present; he could tell that some of them were books. He was intrigued by so many cases; she thought she would give him something that had a number of cases in and an additional book on one case in depth.

She hoped he enjoyed them; she had spent a while deciding which to give him; she decided 501 Disasters would be an interesting read; so many cases would be a good read. And then she settled on a book about Titanic. It was one of the most popular cases in history; people still talked about the cases today. With its one hundred anniversary coming up next year she decided it would be perfect.

Kitty could tell that Seth loved the presents with that cute little smile that appeared on his face when he was enjoying something; a little secret smile that she had grown accustomed to.

They lied down with Evan between them to relax; there was still some time until they had to arrive at Nora’s place.

Justin and Tyler had decided to grab hold of all the gifts and breakfast and take them back into bed. There first Christmas together and they were acting like excited kids; all giggly and jumping all over the place.

Justin quickly ribbed of the paper to his present it was a small shape rectangle with an S shape on the lid. With close inspection of the box he realized it was the complete box set of Smallville. He was complaining a couple months before that he had never had the opportunity to watch the whole series before; watched certain series but never the whole thing; he acted like a kid and asked to watch the first episode.

Tyler looked over at the clock to determine how much time and agreed to the pilot episode while she opened up her presents as well. Justin had got her some bath bombs, a purse, and a cooking book.

She had wanted to learn how to cook some more meals and Justin had asked Scotty to find a cooking book that wasn’t too advance but wasn’t a beginning book either. He had spent quite some money on the book but Scotty knew what he was doing; so Justin didn’t mind and as Tyler flipped through the pages of the book with her smile growing more. Justin knew it had been the right choice; after confirming it was the right choice he went back to watching the episode.

Sarah and Luc were around the Christmas tree; this year it was their turn to have Paige and Cooper with them. Though Paige is older and doesn’t get into the Christmas spirit as she once had; she sits around waiting for the present with a bored expression on her face.

Sarah figures the best approach would be to give Paige something that would occupy her so that the rest of the family could enjoy their time. She gave her a small present which she opened just as bored until she saw the objects inside. She picked up a each three objects individual looking at the smiling. Three very different colours of nail vanish; she decided that the purple would be the nicest to wear for Christmas. She disappeared and returned with her nail kit and went to work on her nails.

She did this as she watched sporadically to the present that were given out; Cooper seemed most satisfied with the DVD that Luc and Sarah had gotten him called StepBrothers. She herself couldn’t really stand Will Ferrell in anything so wasn’t too bothered with it and went back to her nails.

Luc enjoyed the gift voucher that Sarah had gotten him for iTunes and was pleased; he had thinking about buying so new music, he preferred to listen to music whilst he was painting and he a grown tired of the music he had. So some new music was in order.

Sarah liked the majority of her presents but she couldn’t wait to have a use of some of the bath bombs that Luc had brought her. So did love to have baths and those bombs were so great for her skin; had to look the best for her man. Looking at the clock she realized that they were going to be late for Nora’s.

Nora seemed to get the same presents from each other her kids; how is it that with as much as the kids talk how did they not realize it. The puzzles were okay; they were different but the fact that she gets more than just the one diary is slightly ridiculous, what would she need with them.

Ah, well, Christmas wasn’t about the presents anyway but about family; being with each other and enjoying each other’s company. Ah and that was the door opening; she thought as she walked over to front door, time for the chaos to begin.

I think I only thing I asked for out of the whole lot was the Smallville boxset and I did complain to one of my best friends that you could never find Snow White by herself.

Yeah, present are always difficult for me too - especially with a lack of money currently

Thanks - I tried to end how I felt about the presents to the story and who better to complain about too many socks than Kevin :)

Couldn't figure out something from the gifts I got that could be Scotty or Daniels - only the cooking book and that was a bit too obvious for me. I just you can just imagine what Scotty/Kevin gave to each other in private :)
