Lost and Found - Part 4/5

Summary: What if Kevin didn’t forgive Scotty but Michelle had still lied – set after An Ideal Husband but before Resolved. I’ve changed the timeline though.



Michelle drove back to the place she was staying with nothing else on her mind but the baby she had there; her son Daniel.

Though the truth was he wasn’t her son; he was Scotty’s and Kevin’s son and she had taken him from them.

She drove faster than was legally recommended to get back to him and she shooed the babysitter away before picking up Daniel in her arms and repeating the words “Mummy’s here, everything is going to be fine now”.

She wasn’t saying them for Daniel’s benefit but for her own when the only thing she could her in her head was Scotty’s voice.

“We’re separated”.

“After the miscarriage we grew apart”.

“It’s not your fault”.

The last sentence was the worse one to hear; especially when the truth was that it was her fault. She had lied about the miscarriage; she had taken their baby and their money and ran away.

“Everything is going to be okay” she said; trying to believe the words coming out of her mouth but knowing that nothing would be okay again.

She had wrecked a marriage and she had lied to a friend. How was she ever going to feel okay again?

She laid awake for most of the night trying to think about what had happened and what she was going to do until she fell asleep.

She didn’t wake up again until Daniel started to cry.

It was getting closer to 12 o’clock and Scotty was waiting just inside the cafes door; waiting for Kevin to come in and picking him up. He explained the date to Saul and he was more than happy to cover the lunch rush and also promised to keep the date to himself knowing that the last thing that Scotty or Kevin needed was the Walker family butting in on their date or their relationship.

Scotty was starting to think maybe he should wait outside when the door opened door and Kevin walked in. Scotty’s heart skipped a beat when he saw Kevin; he looked absolutely gorgeous.

“So, are you ready” Kevin said approaching Scotty; normally he would give him a kiss but it still felt to earlier to start that so he held out this hand for Scotty.

Scotty looked down at the hand in shock; surprised at the public display of affection and it was already going better than he had hoped. He took hold of Kevin’s hand and they left the cafe; not knowing that Saul had witness the moment with a smile on his face, there was still hope for the two of them.

They got to the coffee house a few minutes later and order their drinks; feeling slightly stupid for being so nervous around each other.

“So...” they both said at the same time wanting to start a conservation but not knowing what to say. They look at each other a started to laugh at the situation.

They were both hesitant about speaking first but there was something that Kevin had really wanted to say on the phone but forgot to.

“Scotty, can I go first” Kevin asked and Scotty nodded his head “I forgot to say that I missed you too on the phone” Scotty nodded at the comment, he had been a bit upset when Kevin hadn’t said it as well “I really do want you to know that I miss you so much”.

“Thank you” Scotty said “I miss you too”.

“I really do want to be with you” Kevin said shyly.

“You do” Scotty asked not wanting to get his hopes up.

“Of course” Kevin said in shock “there is nothing I want more than for us to be back together” Kevin admitted without any doubt in his mind that it was the truth.

“Me too” Scotty said “I was worried when you said you didn’t want to have dinner together; I’d hoped...” he left the sentence up in the air.

“Scotty, it isn’t about what we want anymore, if it was I would have moved back in months ago. This is about not rushing anything; I don’t want us to regret anything in the future” Kevin admitted.

“All I know is I want to be with you forever Kevin” Scotty admitted “I want you back and it is as simple as that to me. I know I made a huge mistake but I can’t help wanting what I want” he continued.

“I want the same but we both needed time to figure that out. I was hurt when I found out the truth; so hurt that I thought I’d never be able to forgive you or myself for that night” Kevin said sadly.

“I forgive you for what happened that night Kevin, I actually understand why you did what you did. I know what you’re like; you close yourself off and then you open yourself up to me when you’re ready. I knew that you weren’t ready but I should have known differently. I do know differently and you have to know that I’d never do that again. I hope one day you will believe me and forgive me” Scotty said knowing it might never happen.

“I do believe you” Kevin said and waited until Scotty looked at him in the eyes before he continued “and I do forgive you” he had realized some time ago that he had forgiven him.

“You do” Scotty asked timidly.

“Yes” Kevin said with his whole heart “forgiving you was actually easier than forgiving myself. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive myself for not turning up that night”.

“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive myself either” Scotty said shaking “I don't know how you could forgive me” he said truthfully.

“Because” Kevin said taking Scotty’s hand “I love you. I just needed some time to deal with it and that wasn’t going to happen if I was around you or my family” he said smiling.

“I love you too” Scotty said smiling.

“We just have to make sure that we talk to each other; so we don’t lose each other. I know that was mine fault but I wish you had yelled at me or something” Kevin admitted.

“We were both hurting so much” Scotty admitted “I didn’t want to hurt you anymore”.

They sat there in silence just looking into each other’ blue eye; this was the type of comfortable silence that they could enjoy when all of a sudden Kevin smiled.

“I love this bit” Kevin said his smile growing.

“What bit” Scotty said smiling because Kevin was smiling.

“When you look into someone’s eyes and they don’t look away” Kevin said smiling at the memory as he leaned over and kissed Scotty.

Scotty was at first shocked by Kevin’s actions but he leaned forward into the kiss.

It was a soft sweet kiss; like the one they shared years ago.

Then lent back into their seat both still refusing to break their hold on each other’ hand.

Scotty then remembered last night and Michelle; he knew that if this was going to work he had to be honest with Kevin about everything, no more lies. It’s about trust.

“Kevin” Scotty started “I have something I need to tell you”.

“Okay” Kevin said nodding but concerned about Scotty’s change in attitude.

“I saw Michelle last night” Scotty admitted as he started to explain Jordan’s phone call and then the run in with her, every detail; including eating Kevin’s favourite ice cream.

“You should try and find her” Kevin said causally.

“You think so, is that okay” Scotty worried about how the news would affect Kevin.

“She sounds like she could use a friend” Kevin said “and we are friends. I know I blamed her for a while but it’s no one’s fault. She block out everyone in her life, we should have tried harder with her. She tried to give us the chance to be parents and then what do we do, stop talking to her” Kevin says “I mean I know she stopped talking to us first and changed her number but maybe we should have tried harder with her; she was your best friend”.

“Thank you for understand” Scotty said and then the conversation continued until Scotty got a phone call and they realized they had been talking for a few hours.

“Oh” Scotty said breaking the hold on Kevin’s hand “it’s Saul”.

“Hi, Saul” Scotty said answering the phone “what, no I had no idea it was 3:30. I’ll come in. Oh, okay, what were you ringing about? What type of surprise? You want Kevin to come too, okay, I guess we will be back in a few minutes” Scotty replied as Kevin understood part of the message and starting collecting their stuff to leave.

“What was all that about?” Kevin asked once Scotty was off the phone.

“No idea, are you okay with this” Scotty asked wondering what the surprise was.

“As long as the rest of the Walkers aren’t there with a banner and a surprise party saying congratulations on getting back together, I’ll be fine” Kevin said laughing.

But with one look at each other they both knew it was a possibility and they hurried home together.

jeez..it's thundering outside and when I came back, and reload my friend's page and saw this chapter's actually up! Happy now!! :D

Scotty’s heart skipped a beat when he saw Kevin; he looked absolutely gorgeous
Isn't he always? :P And I love this scene, why are they both so cute!!!

There're so much I love about this part I don't know where to start!
- Kevin held out his hand for Scotty
- they spoke simultaneously
- Scotty's fear and hesitancy while Kevin voiced his thoughts
- Scotty said he couldn't forgive himself (I wish he said it in the show)
- when they just look at each others' blue eyes (and that killed me *purr*)
- Kevin said 'I love this bit'.... CUZ I KNEW WHAT HE WAS GOING TO SAY NEXT! YAY!
- Kevin took the initiative this time and lean forward to kiss Scotty
- And they just kept holding each other's hands (awww..)

And I love Kevin's reaction there telling Scotty that he should talk to Michelle. Just show what kind souls they both were. It made me even more angry against Michelle, because after what she did (even K/S didn't know about it), they both were still caring a lot about her.

Both of them our so hot and then you put them together and breath a sign of relief.

I would really have liked to see them on dates and actually work through their problems; so glad we have this community so we can see what SHOULD have happened on screen
