Lost and Found - Part 2/5

Summary: What if Kevin didn’t forgive Scotty but Michelle had still lied – set after An Ideal Husband but before Resolved. I’ve changed the timeline though.

A/N - so internet at home is being annoying and really needed it to email a friend some work; so I figured since I'm here I'll put up the next part just in case. Btw this might not have been what you were expecting but I hope you like it anywaay

Six month later

Kevin had moved out of Kitty place six months ago and into a little flat near his office; it was still in Cafe 249. Kevin and Scotty were separated currently but still split the bills of the cafe, the house and the flat; neither one were able to start the divorce procedures yet. They both hoped they would figure out a way back together.

Kevin had stopped avoiding Scotty after their conversation in his office six months ago; he realized it was hurting Scotty too much. Though it hadn’t approved to the point where they trust each other or wanted to move back in with each other they were being more civilized in the last months.

The first stage was like friends that hadn’t see each other in years and had bumped into each other. Awkward conversations about the weather and work were started; it was like starting all over again getting to know each other.

A few months into that stage Kevin took his nerves into his hand and called Scotty on the phone; he still was hurt and angry about the cheating and he knew that they would have to discuss the situation before they would be able to get through it.

The phone call had been a difficult for both involved but they realized it was easier to talk about it on the phone rather than face to face because then they couldn’t see the pain they were causing the other.

They both accepted they blame of that night; knowing that they both had done the wrong thing that night. They had lost each other after the Michelle had miscarriage and neither had realized it until it was too late.

A few weeks later Scotty got the nerve again to ring Kevin; it had always been Kevin that called him lately and he was worried that Kevin wouldn’t answer. Kevin answered and he confronts the topic that he had tried over the last year with no luck; how he really felt about the miscarriage, who he blamed and why. He knew this was a risk but Kevin quietly answered the questions; admitting he did blame Michelle and he knew that was wrong but he couldn’t help it.

While these conversations went on in private about once a week; their attitude to each other when they saw each other was the same as before; civil but nothing more. They didn’t know how to bridge the gap between it. How did they get back to how they were; neither knew but they knew it was what the other one wanted.

Kevin had been sitting in his living room, twiddling his phone in his hand; wanting to call Scotty again. He had saw him this morning and spoke to last night on the phone; they had slowly been calling each other more recently, about three times a week but he still missed Scotty.

He was realizing the more he talked to him the more he wanted to talk to him. What Kevin didn’t realise was that Scotty was in their place doing and thinking the exact thing. The truth was Scotty was the person to ring last night so he still didn’t feel like he had the right to call him the next day; it got him angry and upset when he thought this, they used to talk everyday on the phone and text and then he still got to talk to at night and in the morning.

Scotty was still holding his phone when it rang. He looked down at it and signed in disappointment. That was also an issue; he wanted it to be Kevin when his phone rang.

He answered it “Hi, Jordan” he sighed.

“Wow, look at the enthusiasm you have at my call” Jordan said in sarcasm.

“I’m sorry I just thought.....” Scotty started to say when he got interrupted by Jordan.

“...it was going to be Kevin” Jordan said.

“Yeah, I’m sorry, what is up” Scotty said.

“You still playing that game, talking on the phone intimately but avoiding each other in public” Jordan asked worried about Scotty.

“Yes” Scotty said shortly not wanting to go into much more details than that “anyway what’s up?” he asked again.

“Um, nothing much, I just wanted to ask have you seen Michelle lately?” Jordan asked hesitantly.

“No, not really” Scotty said thinking back to the miscarriage “she kind of cut us out of her life after the miscarriage, I think she felt guilt about it, or something. She changed her number and didn’t give us a new one. Why are you asking, she’s still talking to you, isn’t she?” Scotty asked wondering if she was now.

“That’s the thing, she stopped talking to me as well” Jordan answered “I thought it was because we were close friends but I’ve rung everyone else and no one had heard or seen her since the miscarriage” Jordan explained.

“Huh, that’s a bit strange but didn’t she move to New York or something, like she was planning to after she had the baby, why do you ask any way” Scotty asked curiously.

“I saw her yesterday” Jordan answered “she was acting strange; she said she was busy but she just didn’t seem to want to talk to me. I’ve never seen her act that way before, like she had been caught doing something wrong. Like talking to me would be betraying you or something” he continued trying to explain Michelle’s actions.

“Well that’s just silly” Scotty said “I had no idea she was avoiding everyone else as well. Maybe I should try and find her and talk to her; get her to talk to everyone”.

“I figured out of everyone you would be the best person to try and talk to her” Jordan said as he started to explain where he had bumped into her.

Scotty could here another call waiting and he looked at it and smiled “Jordan, I have to go, talk later” he didn’t even hear Jordan say goodbye as he ended the call and started to talk to the other person on the phone “Kevin...” and forgot all about Michelle until later that night when he was out.

You know, my head was totallly in a different place (i.e. in your universe.. LOL) and then I heard Jordon said he saw Michelle and she was avoiding him as well. Then I was seething in front of my computer and just wanna hunt her down myself!! I guess I don't know how much I actually hate her! :D I love you brought Scotty's friend in here (and I bet Marea is happy to see Jordon LOL!), cuz it's so logical! They sure are very good friends of Scotty's and I love that they tried to locate Michelle, either it's for their own worries over her sudden disappearance or for Scotty and Kevin's sake. Now, I have to go read the next part!! See you there! :D

Yeah, Jordan is always worth the mention - I really hope they did stay friends and would be worried about each other.

The hate that ABC & B&S did to Michelle was so unbelievable - turning two friends against each other and fracturing them is sad. But then again I figured that out a while ago anyway :)
