Summary: Scotty surprises Kevin, just because.........Happy Birthday Luna Veritas, just a little story that will hopefully make you smile for your birthday, enjoy.
It had been a year since Daniel had come back into their life; things had been difficult at first, especially with Olivia but once they had explained the fact that they love her and wasn’t going to replace her she adjusted; particular when they said she had a new brother.
She started to understand the difference, Daniel was a replacement but an extension to the family that she had; she now loved her little brother and had a great time playing with him.
Scotty looked around the kitchen smiling at his family, Olivia was doing homework, Kevin was reading to Daniel and he was preparing the food for this afternoon. He hoped everything went as well with Olivia as it had with Kevin. He smiles thinking back to last night.
Daniel had been put to bed earlier and Olivia had finally agreed to go to bed as well.
Scotty walked into their bedroom and nearly drowned looking at his husband half naked on their bed. He seemed more beautiful than he had all those years ago when he first walked into Kevin’s office.
“Scotty, stop staring and come to bed” Kevin said smiling at his gawking husband.
Scotty walked over to their bed and went directly into Kevin’ arms; he completely forgot the present he had for Kevin and started to deepen the kiss immediately.
Kevin flipped Scotty over on to his back and deepened the kiss further; it wasn’t until Kevin started to undress Scotty that he remember he should give Kevin the present before anything else happen that night or he would regret it.
“Kevin, stop a second” Scotty said pushing Kevin away.
Kevin looked at Scotty in shock; it had been a long time since Scotty had said no to him; during their bad times perhaps but not since. He looked at Scotty hurt.
“Don’t give me that face” Scotty said laughing “we can pick up where we left in a minute” Scotty said getting up of the bed “stop pouting Kevin” continued “or otherwise I won’t give you your present”.
“Present” Kevin said shocked, he didn’t think it was his birthday or anniversary or otherwise he was in deep trouble “have I forgot something”
“No” Scotty said coming back into the room “it’s been a year since I family became complete and I wanted to do something to celebrate that
fact” Scotty said giving Kevin the gift he had wrapped up earlier; at first he wasn’t going to wrap it up but he it wouldn’t be much of a gift would it.
Kevin looked at the present in front of him, it was A4 and felt like paper.
He opened the wrapping and looked at it realizing he was right, he looked at Scotty wondering what he had been thinking and he had no idea what to say.
“Well actually look at it before you look so disappointed” Scotty said huffing; he had hoped this would have gone better than he originally thought.
He looked at the paper in front of him “Legal documents?” he asked staring at Scotty and he nodded.
Kevin looked at the document again and read it; once he finished reading it he looked up to Scotty and smiled “really?” he asked thinking this was a joke.

All Kevin response was to kiss Scotty again and again, the legal documents ended up on the floor and like Scotty had promised earlier then picked up right from where they had left off.
End of Flashback
“The food was wonderful Scotty, as always” Kevin said and watched as his husband smiled shyly; he was still embarrassed whenever Kevin gave him a compliment, though he loved them.
Olivia watched as her two dads smiled at each other with love and thought how great it was to have two parents that loved each other and weren’t afraid to show that in front of her.

She smiled then remembered she still had homework to do; she was doing extra work hoping for some extra credit for her class “Can I please be excused from the table” she asked as she set down her napkin.
“Actually honey we need to speak to you about something” Scotty said.
“What have I done?” Olivia said thinking whether she had done something wrong lately.
“What, no, sweetheart, we just had something to discuss with you” Kevin said taking hold of Olivia’ hand as Scotty took hold of Olivia’ other hand.
“We talked about this last night” Scotty said pointing to Kevin and himself “and as you know we had Daniel’s surname changed a while ago” Olivia nodded “and we thought it was time that we changed our too” Scotty continued as he pulled out the legal document.
“We want to be recognized as a family” Kevin said.
Olivia started to look scared.
“But this is completely up to you” Scotty said.
“What are you talking about” Olivia asked timidly.
“Both myself and Scotty our changing our surnames and we wanted to give you the option to change yours too, this is completely up to you, so take your time” Kevin said making sure that Olivia understood it was her choice.
“So you’re legally changing you names to Walker-Wandell” Olivia said and they confirmed with a nod “I’d like that too” she said, it was nice to be given the choice but she didn’t need to think it over, she loved being in the family and she would love to have the same name as the rest of her family; to really belong somewhere.
