Summary: AU this is my first try at this one. So at the moment I’ve been writing about a case study for my course; this makes me feel like I’m still doing uni work.
A/N - thanks to those who reminded me that Justin was supposed to be drunk - so no complaining now
Justin had somehow managed to stay quite sober for the day but once the night was upon him; he found the first bottle of whisky he could and start to drink it straight from the bottle; though it was in a brown bag it was still obvious to anyone that saw him what he was doing. No one troubled him though; so already knew him and what he was like while others had heard the reputation of Mr. Justin Walker.
He was halfway through the bottle when he heard his name “Oh, Justin” Emily said slightly concerned for him; she really didn’t understand why such a lovely guy had to drink so much to be happy. Though she had seen individual been drunk; she was surprised that Justin had decided to do it so often.
Justin looked up ashamed to be face to face with Emily and drunk. She really was beautiful, why had Kevin met her first? though he doubted that Emily would find him interesting anyway, he was just pathetic.
He tried to compose himself and say something but instead all that happened was that he hiccupped and in the state that he was in he found his hilarious and started to laugh.
Emily went closer to Justin and pulled him by his arms to get him up and walking.
“Come on” Emily said concerned “back to your room, I think. Then bed”.
They walked on their why ignoring the stares they received from other passengers.

Nora and William had decided it would be best to approach Justin directly; hopefully the shock would straight him out. They were angry with the theft; how could one steal from their own family.
They were discussing this when they saw the outline of two figures turning around after looking into the sea.
Once closer it became clear that one of the figure was one of her sons; though she did not know the other individual.
“Kevin” Nora said surprised, she had expected him to wait closer to William and her room; when he wasn’t outside they had presumed he had gone back to his and Emily’ room.
The other man was about to excuse himself when William stopped him.
“Do I know you?” William asked bluntly without any proper introduction.
The man stopped in shock a bit surprised at the rudeness of the older man. Once he got his composure together he answered the man “I don’t think so” he said giving his hand to the other man to shake “Scotty Wandell” he said once the older man had accepted the handshake.
“William Walker” he said during the handshake “I’m sure I do know you from somewhere” he continued positively sure of himself.
“I’m sorry” Scotty said “I just don’t recognise you” he said now stuck in a awkward conservation.
Kevin observed the exchange between his father and the man. Glad that the man that introduced himself; saved him the embarrassment of introducing someone to his parents when he did know their name. “Scotty” he thought in his head, trying not to smile though, at least now he knew his name and even more than that he just knew that Scotty was interested as well.
“This is my mother, Nora” Kevin said letting Nora join in with the conversation; though there wasn’t much of one.

Once the conservation grew completely awkward Nora turned and said to Scotty “I’m sorry Mr. Wandell” she formal addressed him “we have a private matter to attend to. It very nice to meet you and I hope to see you again.” making it clear that Scotty had to leave.
“Me too” Scotty said. He quickly looked at Kevin; not wanting to lose him after just finding him. He saw the mirrored expression on his face but they both quickly covered it up. They were worried but they had managed to see or bump into each other three times since arriving at the port this morning. This exchange happened in the blink of an eye; neither William nor Nora noticed their concern.
“Mr. & Mrs. Walker” Scotty said nodding at them “Kevin. I am sure we will meet again” then he left for his room.
“Mother, what is wrong?” Kevin asked concerned, she didn’t normally act like that to new acquaintances; she loved meeting new individuals.
“The ring is missing” William said before Nora could say anything, then turned and started walking away.
He didn’t even bother to ask where they were going or who had taken the ring; he just followed his parents, shaking his head and muttered the name “Justin”.

Justin was having trouble get the door unlocked so Emily carefully pushed Justin out of the way; which again he found amusing as he decided to take another swig from his bottle.

She shook her head as she opened the door.
“Justin” Emily said “IN” making sure he knew not to argue.
She managed to get him inside the room with little trouble. Then she wasn’t sure what else to do; she didn’t think it was acceptable for women to be in her partners’ brother room. She should leave.
She made sure that Justin was comfortable in his chair; he was already dozing, so he should be okay by himself.
She opened the door as it was knocked; there in front of her was Kevin and his mother and father, looking very confused at the scene in front of them.
Kevin stepped forward and then said “Emily, what are you doing in here?” complete confused and worried about the situation that he was faced with.

Date: 2011-04-14 10:16 pm (UTC)So Emily and Justin huh? I could see this coming though when I saw Justin's reaction when he talked to Kevin earlier on Emily. Somehow I felt that there's more than one pair of Jack and Rose in *this* Titanic... heh... I know, I know, we'll have to see, I totally get it you're not gonna tell us now. LOL!!
The way this NOra dismissed Scotty, it's polite and kind and just so Nora! :D
Hey, William's such a jerk! But I love that about him in this story. And wow, I wondered where William met Scotty before! This is gonna be interesting!
Oh, Kevin!! Just take this opportunity and make an excus to dump her! She's in your brother's room and Justin's drunk, Emily probably already got knocked up (all in her head though) :p

Date: 2011-04-16 02:39 pm (UTC)Yeah maybe - I kind of like the idea of them together as well, but don't want to take the attention away from K/S; though I think I've already done that.
Glad - I think its Nora being Nora and I love William as a complete jerk rather than pretending to be nice but not actually being nice.
I don't think he is planning on dump her - at least not yet
