Summary: AU this is my first try at this one. So at the moment I’ve been writing about a case study for my course; this makes me feel like I’m still doing uni work.
“Yes” Kevin said looking at Justin “I think your right”.
“Right about what exactly” Justin questions his brother; him seemed to have lost his track of mind.
“Proposing to Emily, of course” Kevin said smiling “it’s time. It’s practical and she is nice enough” Kevin said.
“Practical and nice enough” Justin said in shock; how could he be so diplomatic about it, like it was a task and he should do it rather than wanting to do it “Are you sure?”
Kevin looked at Justin and his smile faltered “I thought you would be happy. You literally just told me I should make an honest woman of her; and now I am and you don’t want me to” Kevin said not understanding want he could have said to make his brother act this way.
“No, I am happy for you; that is if you actually want this?” Justin asked “you made it sound so surgical when you said it was time. I want you to be happy and want this” Justin said truthfully.
“Well, I want this” Kevin said confidently but his brain was screaming that he didn’t “I am happy, I love her” and with that last line both Kevin and Justin knew he was lying.
Justin knew he didn’t really love her but couldn’t say that so left it at “I’m happy for you, both of you” Justin said giving Kevin a handshake.
“We should get going; Emily will be wondering where we are” Kevin said looking at the time.
Justin nodded his agreement and they went to leave the room “Justin, please don’t say anything yet; I have to figure out how and when I’m going to propose first” Kevin said and waited for Justin “Of course” before opening the door.
“This means you’ll need a best man” Justin said cheekily.
“Consider your application for the job received” Kevin said smiling; knowing that of course Justin would be his best man but doesn’t hurt to tease him at bit. The likelihood of him asking Thomas was small; they just didn’t get on that well, difference of personality and opinion. And don’t get him started on Robert; why again did Katherine have to marry that obnoxious man.

Emily walked out of the room with a fair idea what Justin wanted to talk to Kevin about; she wasn’t stupid, he has seen his wandering eyes.
She also knew it was improper for Kevin to act of those urges; so she had no worries really. She didn’t mind the observing of the men; she had done it as well and that man was beautiful so she couldn’t blame Kevin really.
Though the fact the man had looked back had startled her slightly. Ah well time to find the rest of the party.
She walked to the Dining Saloon and the first people there at their table were Sarah and Luc with their children.
“Hello” she says shyly as she sits down at the table, she has always liked them but she isn’t normally alone with them; Kevin is almost always with her.
As to confirm her exactly what she was think Sarah looked around and then said “Where’s Kevin?”
“Oh, Justin needed a quick word” Emily said looking around “They said they wouldn’t be long” she clarified.
“So what do you think?” Luc asks but doesn’t elaborate.
“Of what exactly” Emily asks causally “The rooms are charming aren’t they. Kevin and I had a little time exploring as well; everything looks exquisite. The first people on the ship is always a treat” Emily has always been a fan of new items, the feel of them and the smell; she could smell the paint from the newly painted walls.
“Luc and I were discussing whether we thought the Titanic was actually the biggest the ship made” Sarah clarified “we’ve been on so many ships over the years that we can’t decide; it does seem bigger but I think once you’ve been on one you’ve been on them all” Sarah says disappoint that Emily seemed to still have that excited feeling of new things; it bored her.

“Yes I agree” Luc said “It’s the same people and attitude just a slightly different place. It bores me but then again at least we have the opportunity to travel and enjoy all the new places we’ve been to” Luc said hoping not to offend Emily too much; she was nice but slightly shallow in his opinions “Where did you enjoy the most?” Luc asked hoping for a change in the subject.
“Well, everywhere was so gorgeous” Emily said and then realized she should actually pick a place or otherwise she might look slightly dull
“Kevin was partial to Wales but I thought England was amazing and I found Bath in particular a wonderful place to be; the city was full of excitement and it felt comfortable; liking being home. The Roman Baths were a site to behold” Emily said glad she found a place that she loved.
“Yes” Sarah agreed “They were gorgeous” finally thinking that at least the girl could tell the difference; maybe she was too hard on her.
They continued to talk about the Roman Baths and all the other places that they enjoyed visiting until the rest of the party arrived.

William and Nora were sitting in their room peacefully when the knock on the door disturbed them; Kitty and Robert had arrived to talk their ears off about their travels and the ship.
“We’re so lucky to be able to be on the maiden voyage of this ship; I was just talking to the Captain Smith; and he is hoping to get us home in a record time, lighting all the boilers up. It’s exciting; we will be part of history” Kitty said her enthusiasm shining from her.
Robert looked slightly bored by the conversation; he’d already heard it from the Captain; why did he have to hear it all again.
“Well that’s interesting Katherine” William said barely believing what the Captain had said; they all talk big about reaching their destination before planned but it never seems to work out that way “I’ll have to see that to believe it” William added; he was the type of man not to belief anything until he say it for himself.
“William” Nora said looking at her watch “we should get going, the others will be waiting” she doesn’t like leaving her children waiting on her.
“Yes, I think we should leave soon” William said not completely agreeing with Nora because he doesn’t like to give her that much power “you two head on out and we will be there in a minute” William said making it clear not to debate with him.
Kitty and Robert left; leaving Nora looking at William questioningly.
“What is it?” Nora asks knowing that is never anything good when it had to be private.
“It’s our son” William said knowing that Nora will know what he was on about.
“Oh, not this again, William” Nora said sick and tired of their discussion “Kevin will marry when he is good and ready. There is no need to pressure him into it; no punishment nor reward will be given to him” Nora said getting anger at this repeated conversation “He and Emily have been together for a while, I’m sure he will be ready to settle down soon. If we should be worried about anyone its Justin” Nora said knowing changing the subject was the only way to stop it altogether.
William thought about Justin and calmed down quickly; how is it that the disappointment of Justin will calm him down from the disappointment from Kevin he will never know but it works and Nora knows it works.
“Okay” William said breathing steadily “time to go” and they leave to meet up with everyone.

Sarah and Luc's thoughts on Emily is hilarious! Love this little part of Nora and William's exchange about their children. It's what I hope we would see in the show.

Glad you enjoyed the chapter and liked the other scenes even though there was no Kevin or Scotty.
