Summary: Kevin and Scotty see Michelle after she moved back to the city with her new boyfriend. Based after the last episode so 5.08
At the Hospital
Kevin feels a shake on his shoulder; he realises he must have fallen asleep at some point and slowly comes with Jordan’s gentle shake.
“Kevin, wake up!” Jordan said gently.
Kevin comes back into the real world where Jordan, Mario and Quinn are in Scotty’s room.
He slowly gets up and looks at Scotty still asleep.
“You guys can’t be in here; you’re not allowed” Kevin says pointing and moving to the entrance of the door.
“We were coming to find you when we walked past the room and saw you here; why aren’t we allowed in?” Jordan asked once they were relocated outside; in the corridor.
“The doctors said he isn’t allowed; something to do with stress and too many people. I’m the only one that has permission” Kevin explained carefully.
“We’re his friends” Jordan said “basically his family” he added without thinking; they are considered each other family.
“Trying to imply something Jordan” Kevin said feeling hurt by the comment “I am his family, I’m all he needs. We are a family” he declares.
“Hey, calm down, I didn’t mean anything by it. I just meant that he is a close friend and there is nothing we wouldn’t do for him; we’d protect him from anything” Jordan said with everyone agreeing with him by a nod or a yeah.
“I know that” Kevin said under his breath “Are you saying I wouldn’t; that I let him be shot, because believe me I would rather be the one lying on the bed than here talking to you”.
“Kevin, come on. We know you love Scotty and wouldn’t want any harm to him but how did this happen?” Quinn said.
“How did I let this happen” Kevin said getting anger and he just exploded “How did I let this happen, he was shot by someone who kidnapped our babies, I guess that’s my fault right. I was there to stop it and get hit myself. You guys have never liked me” Jordan, Quinn and Mario try to say that wasn’t true but couldn’t get a word in edge ways “from the moment I met you’ve hated me. Blamed me for everything that has gone wrong in our relationship, you’ve called me a names and say that I can’t commit myself to anyone; when Scotty was the one....” he stopped mid sentence not wanting to say the words “I actually thought we were passed all this but were not, you guys never respected me or our relationship. I’m done trying to get you guys to like me. You guys blame me if you want; I blame me as well, I blame myself for the fact I couldn’t tell Scotty I loved him six years ago and let him walk away from me, I blame myself for not telling him again when I was with Chad and I even blame myself for the fact that he, Scotty cheated on me and I didn’t even fucking realize it” he breathed out and the pent up emotion escaped and he looked back at his husband and just wished he would wake up.
The other three witnesses the emotional breakdown and at first didn’t know what to say but just like a normal family they started to speak over each other.
“He did what!” Mario said shocked that Scotty would do something like that and not quite believing him.
“Oh my god” Quinn said shocked by the outburst “Kevin, it’s okay” he said quietly trying to calm Kevin down.
“He told you?” Jordan said surprised by the fact that Scotty had told Kevin and not mentioned it to him but he was glad that Scotty admitted.
“You knew?” Quinn and Mario said at the same time looking Jordan.
“Um, yes” Jordan said looking at Kevin, wondering how Kevin was going to react “He called me the night it happened” he said slowly waiting for Kevin to get angry again.
“Don’t worry Jordan, I already know, thanks for convincing my husband that I didn’t or shouldn’t know by the way” Kevin said sarcastically.
“Kevin, come on” Jordan said.
“Please just don’t” Kevin said defeated.
“You know that if he told you then; you guys wouldn’t have survived, I just said to wait a while” Jordan defensively.
“It should have been his choice” Kevin said.
“It was” Jordan said.
Kevin knew this to be true but he couldn’t stand the fact it was “I should have know about it before anyone else” he was shaking.
“True, but you can’t change that anymore than the fact that Scotty cheated or that you weren’t there the night of the opening or today when he was shot. You can’t keep blaming yourself. The fact is that you both love each other” Jordan slowly approached Kevin a touched his shoulder and carefully pulled him into the hug that he needed.
Mario and Quinn stayed quiet; not sure how to react to the fact that Scotty had cheated on Kevin or the fact that Scotty was shot today.
A few minutes passed and that’s when he heard his name being yelled.
“Kevin, where’s my son, where is Scotty?” Wally shouted when he saw Kevin.

At the Police Station
The team had been assembled and were on their way to the address that had been given to them; Steve’s parents’ house, the McQueen’s place.
He hoped with every fibre of his being that Steve and the babies would be there; he heard that Scotty had pulled through the surgery and this would be great news to give to them.
They had turned off the sirens as they got closer to the house; they didn’t want to give Steve the opportunity to run.
As they reached the house; they notice that another car had parked in front of the house and an older woman was getting out of the car.
They casually walked over to the woman just before she started to walk up the path.
“Excuse me, are you Mrs. McQueen?” Sam asked.
The women nodded her head confused.
“My name is Detective Samuel New. I’m looking for your son Steven” Sam said showing her his badge.
“I haven’t seen or heard from my son in years” Mrs McQueen said unaware of the fact that Steve was inside her house now.
“We are under the belief that he is here now” Sam said.
“Why?” she said “Want do you want from him?” she was starting to get confused by the situation; why would Steve be here, was that the surprise her husband had for her, she swallowed the lump in her throat “What is going on?”
“Your son is wanted for questioning about the attempted murder of an Mr.Wandall and for the kidnapping of his sons” Sam said matter of fact.
She absorbed the words that he had told her and then kneeled of in the pain; what had happened to her son.
“I came home earlier because my husband said he had a surprise for me” she said shaking “this is it. Our son finally came home and he is wanted for murder and kidnapping”.
“If you go with his officer, he’ll take care of you while we go into your house” Sam said leading her to another officer and away from the house.
He made sure the house was surrounded and all the exits were covered when he approached the house and knocked on the door.

Steve’s point of view
He heard the knock on the door and tensed up; why would anyone knock on the door at this time of day.
His dad got up to answer.
“Dad, leave it, it’s most likely to be a sales person or something. We still have so much to catch up on” Steve said trying to distract his dad from the person knocking.
His dad went to sit back when the person knocked again.
“Dad, please, leave it” Steve said getting worried.
There was another knock and this time it was accompanied by the voice of Sam saying “It’s the police, open up”.
Steve jumped up and ran over to the twins.
“I have to leave” Steve said picking them up from their resting place; he started to walk to the back entrance.
“Steven want is going on, why are the police at my front door?” he wanted to know.
“Um, I don’t know” he lied.
“Yes, you do or you wouldn’t be acting this way” he said knowing it was the truth.
“They don’t understand” Steve said “No one does, they are mine” he continued looking at the twins.
It was at this point that his father knew or expected what he had done “Steven McQueen, tell me you didn’t take those babies from someone”.
“They were taken from me, all I did was take them back” Steve said angrily.
There was another knock and Sam’s voice again “Open up or will have to force are way in?” on the outside he nodded at the other police officer to get the bartering ram.
His dad approached the front door.
“Stop, don’t Dad please” Steve begged, if he wasn’t holding the babies he would have gone for the gun. He couldn’t decide whether to put
them down to get his gun; did he have enough time anyway or should he just keep hold on to his children.
