Summary: What if Kevin was the one to get Amnesia.
A/N I'm ending this story at in the next part - I might do a sequel but at the moment the main part is over and I have another story screaming in my head, plus got to focus on RL as well. Hope you've enjoyed the story

Earlier that night

Jason looks at Scotty and feels guilty; he knows he shouldn’t have gone and seen Kevin. He just couldn’t help it and even Kitty suggested it but he thinks back to what Kevin has said to him and flashes back to it

“I’m confused as well. I mean I love you” Kevin says and Jason looks up and they go to hold hands “but I also know that I choose Scotty; there is a reason for that”.

He gets angry with himself, with Kevin, with Scotty and with Kitty. What the hell was he thinking as he walks to Robert’ room and planning on asking Kitty why she put him into that situation. He is so angry he doesn’t even realize that he cursed.

He enters the room and sees Kitty holding Robert’s hand and talking to him; part of the anger fades slightly. Seeing his sister-in-law looking at his brother breaks his resolve; he shouldn’t be anger at anyone but himself. The anger starts to turn to pain and he just looks at his brother and cries.

Kitty looks around after hearing someone crying “Oh, Jason” Kitty says guiltily, knowing that the outcome of the talk would be on her. Kevin must of choose Scotty; she was so sure that he would want to be with Jason, particular when he was back in his mind to three years ago. Maybe it was always going to be Scotty though; she thinks back to when the family had all gone up to Ojai and knew Kevin was crazy about Scotty even if he showed it all the wrong ways.

She stood up and went to her brother-in-law and hugged him; Jason hugged on to Kitty like she was the only person in the universe. “What was I thinking?” Jason whispered.

Kitty looks up at Jason and says the only thing she could in this situation “The truth” she says softly as she cupped his face and wiped the tears away.

“But was it the truth; part of me will always care about Kevin and I just went back to that time when Kevin and I were so happy. I thought we would last forever. I also know that Kevin choose Scotty; I mean they are a family. Oh god” Jason says taking in gods’ name in vain as he remembers for the first time what Robert had told him a month ago “They’re going to be parent and I just tried to steal Kevin away not only from a husband but a child; what have I done”.

“I think you need to rest for now” Kitty says as she pushes him to the empty chair. He sits down and so emotionally drained he falls asleep straight away.

Kitty takes out her phone and rings her mum, as she explains what happened she can her Sarah and Saul in the background asking what was going on; once she’s finished Nora tells her that she saw Kevin and Scotty in Kevin’ room asleep just that minute. “Kitty want ever processed you to do that in the first place?” Nora asks angrily, not giving Kitty a chance to defend herself “I think you own Kevin and Scotty an apology; don’t you. Scotty has been part of this family for three years and you treat him like that” Nora says accusingly as she hangs up the phone.

What am I going to do with her Nora thinks to herself? Sarah and Saul wait expectantly and she tells them the story.

Back in Robert’ room

Jason wakes up and realizes he must have only been asleep for a short time but decides it’s best to go home. He looks around the room and sees that Kitty isn’t there so he goes to Robert and says “I’ll see you soon, bro” and leaves the room.

As he goes to the room he sees the Walkers welcoming the new arrivals; looks like Tommy and Julia must of just go here. He looks at the family talking in hushed voices and the stares he gets from the Walker; he somehow forgot how quickly gossip spread in their family. He looks at the floor and keeps on staring at the floor until he is out of the hospital; if looks could kill he would have been dead multiple amounts of time.

In Kevin’ Room

Scotty looks up at the soft mention of his name and realizes that Kevin isn’t in bed anymore. He stares at Kevin and sees that he is holding some paper; he knows without looking what it is and then says “Kevin, you shouldn’t...” he stops when he sees Kevin’s eyes role back into his head and he gets scared. No, no, no, not know Scotty thinks he just got Kevin back.

He gets out of the bed in a micro of a second and is screaming “Help, somebody please help me” he goes to Kevin’ side and just wants to hold him but first he should make sure that someone heard him. He runs to the door just as Annie runs in to see Kevin on the floor; she turns and asks an intern to call for Dr. K. Thompson and Dr. M. Carter. They are there quickly and assess the situation.

Michael looks at Scotty and asks “What happen, was he complaining about pain or anything before he collapse?” trying to determine if there was some brain damage that incurred; maybe a blood clot or something, he starts to list in his head what could of caused it the happen.

Scotty just stands there and looks at his husband on the floor; not sure what was happening.

Karl is on the floor next to Kevin assessing the situation from a different view, he looks at Kevin and then sees the pieces of paper he had in his hands. He takes them and gives them a quick look.

“Scotty, are these the lists I asked you and Nora to write” Karl says as more a statement than a question; he looks at them again and thinks this all happened in the last three years. He sees Scotty nod “but I don’t know how he got them though, they were in my jacket; though I shouldn’t be surprised he went looking though” Scotty says thinking how like it was for Kevin to need to know everything.

Kevin starts to come around and Scotty rushes to Kevin with relief just as Karl goes to talk to Michael and Annie and whispers. They come back over to Kevin and help him to his feet and back into his bed.

“I just wanted to give you a quick check Kevin” Michael says as he checks his pulse and the stitches in his head. Everything seemed okay physically. “Kevin do you still remembered what happened today” Kevin nods thinking how confused he has been today and how confused he still was.

“Okay” Karl says as he came over to him “Did you read these lists?” with a slight smirk on his face for some reason.

“Um, yeah, I kind of, found them. On the floor” Kevin says slowly knowing he shouldn’t have read them and points to where he found them.

“Well, what I think happened I... you fainted” Karl said pausing for dramatic effect.

“Fainted” both Kevin and Scotty said at the same time. Kevin starts to blush feeling foolish and Scotty sign in relief but still worried.

“There has to be a better word than fainted” Kevin says horrified at it “couldn’t you say collapse” Kevin asks hopefully looking at the smirk that now has spread to the rest of the doctors and Scotty.

“Well, no. It is a clinical term” Karl says now serious so that Kevin knows it was the truth.

“I’m never going to hear the end of it, especially in my family” Kevin says scared of the endless jokes and mockery.

“Kevin, while you just fainted. I want you to know how serious it was; you shouldn’t be exposed to this much information in one go. Individuals’ bodies will respond differently to processing this type of information. You could have caused serious trouble; there was a reason that I wanted to go slowly.” Karl said making sure that Kevin knows the implication of his action. Scotty doesn’t know whether to be angry or relief that he was okay.

“Did you read both of these lists?” Karl asks hoping that he only read one or the other so he would know where to start. Only Kevin nods and says “I read both of them” he decides to be honest about the situation. Karl just shakes his head.

“Okay; what was the last thing you read?” Karl asks in hope to pin-point why he fainted.

Kevin looks at Scotty kind of worried how Scotty would react to him reading it and then fainting “Um, Scotty and I got pregnant” Kevin watched as Scotty’s face feel but he quickly masked his face with a smile.

Karl looks at the list and sees that it was the list item on the list “Okay, so it could of been that one item that made you faint” Kevin cringes at the word “but mostly like that it was a mixture of all the things plus you’ve only just came out of the coma” Scotty smiles at the last part hoping that Kevin isn’t too scared about having a kid that he fainted. He thinks about how much Kevin had wanted the kid for over a year now; he would hate to be the only person that wanted the baby now.

“Okay, I’m going to leave you guys to get some rest now. I figure out how we should tackle the situation and come and see you tomorrow” Karl says and then leaves the room with Michael and Annie following him and softly closing the door behind them.

Scotty looked at Kevin and tried to hold back the flood of tears that wanted to come out; he wasn’t sure if it was from relief or not but he cried so much today he didn’t want to cry anymore. He got into the bed again and this time they faced each other.

Kevin looked at Scotty worried “Scotty, I’m sorry I worried you. I know I shouldn’t have read the list. I guess the lawyer in me got the pretty of me but I am really sorry” Kevin says honestly.

Scotty laughs whilst saying “Kevin, it’s not the lawyer in you but the gossiper in you. I was worried about how you were going to take the news physically earlier but I didn’t think that much into emotionally now” Scotty says trying to make Kevin understand.

“This is going to take a while to get through, isn’t it” Kevin said sadly

“Yes, it is but I’m right here for you; remember that” Scotty says lovingly

“I know the doctor doesn’t want us to talk about everything on the list but there are some things that are concern me” Kevin looks at Scotty hoping he will answer a few of his question

“Kevin, you know the doctor doesn’t want you to know too much, look at want just happened; he said it could of been worse” Scotty says strongly determined not to let Kevin win this debate

Kevin looks at Scotty with puppy face and he knows that Scotty resolve starts to break and then he says “Please” and Scotty crumbles.

“Okay but were not going to lie here all night and talk about this. So I’m limiting it to three questions and if there is an issue I don’t think we should approach tonight we are not talking about it” Scotty says forcefully so Kevin knows not to push it.

“Okay so first one” Scotty says counting the questions

“Um” Kevin says as he thinks about what he really wants to know “Scotty, you said we’re pregnant; how far are we pregnant and how did we get pregnant” really curious about the method they would choose.

“You know I could count that as two question” Scotty says teasing and looks at Kevin “but I won’t this time. We are a few months pregnant about 18 weeks” Scotty does the maths in his head. “Um, we went with surrogacy and my friend Michelle is carrying the baby” Scotty looks at Kevin’s face of shock “Yeah, I know but we did agree to it and the baby is healthy which is all we care about in the end” Kevin nods his head.

“So we’re going to be parents, check” Kevin says with a giggle; like checking a list of at the supermarket.

“There is so much about us that I want to know but I’m curious with the Rebecca and Justin thing” Kevin says as his face says it all; cringe and incest.

“What exactly do you want to know?” Scotty says laughing at Kevin’ face

“Just how, I just” Kevin says mystified at the fact that his half-sister is now his sister-in-law.

“Well, let’s see” Scotty says thinking back to that time “Rebecca had been curious about whether your dad was actually her dad because of Holly’s new/old boyfriend. She got a DNA test and once she realized that they weren’t related; they started to date. Kevin they had that connection from the beginning you’re the one that told me that” Scotty said as though Kevin should know that “they kept it quiet for awhile and went slow as well. They didn’t start anything until they were both sure” Scotty says a Kevin nods again.

“Okay, so Justin and Rebecca married, check” Kevin can’t help himself and still cringes at the image in his mind “That might take a while getting used to” Kevin says and Scotty smiles down at the thought; glad he didn’t react the same ways to the fact that they are going to be parent. Then again he was a great lawyer maybe he was just hiding his feelings to protect Scotty.

“That’s two; you have one more and then sleep” Scotty says Kevin yawns in agreement realizing he was tired.

“There are a couple on mum’s list that I interested with” Kevin says worriedly “I want to know everything that has happened on your list about the jobs and everything as well” Kevin says wanting to know everything so they can go on moving forwards together.

Scotty looks at Kevin; not sure what he might pick next, he was glad with the first question (made him feel happy) and the second question was funny but the next had him apprehension about what he would choose “Kevin, only one remember” Scotty says

“Well, I find the thing about Saul interesting but we can get to that later and I’m Elizabeth’s biological father, we already knew that I had a 50% chance of being that plus it explains the scar on mine side. If it hadn’t said to next to Kitty that she was cancer free; I’d of asked that straight away. There was one thing that didn’t actually explain anything; at least not in the detailed I would want” Kevin says in fear “Aaron”.

Scotty looked at him and just didn’t know what to say.

“Please Scotty, I never told anyone I liked him; I only told Kitty that he tried to kiss me and I thought I was gay because she was drunk” Kevin says growing more worried by the silence.

“Kevin, no; this is one of the situations where I said I wouldn’t answer and you have to be okay with that for now” Scotty says pleading with Kevin.

“I don’t know if I can” Kevin said looking at his face “Okay, for now I’ll leave it alone; only for now though” Kevin said make sure that Scotty knew that the conversation wasn’t over.

“Okay, since I didn’t answer that; would you like another” Scotty says trying to be good.

“No” Kevin says “I think I have plenty to think about already; we should get some sleep” starting to cuddle up to Scotty. Scotty moves over to Kevin; they share a quick kiss as they surrender to sleep
